The Best Carpet Tile Options For Your Newly-Built or Refurbished Office

office tiles

Many companies looking for office space might find they are searching for it in existing buildings, either custom-built offices that have been in place for years, or a converted building such as an old mill. However, that is not always the case.

Even though so many people work from home all the time or part of the week on a hybrid basis, the construction of offices has actually been an area of abundant activity, according to the latest data on output in the construction sector.

An Abundance Of New Offices

This was a key finding of the Standard & Poor’s Purchasing Managers Index for construction in November. The survey found that while house building is in decline at present, despite the obvious need for more homes, the commercial construction segment of the industry is booming, with growth at its highest rate in two-and-a-half years.

What this means is there is lots of new commercial property being built and while some of that may be shops, factories or laboratories, some will be office space too. That means if you are a business looking to hire newly-built office space, or move into a new office that has been custom-built for your company as it expands, you will have plenty of options available.

Having this new space may be great, especially if it is a state-of-the-art building with all sorts of great facilities, energy efficiency and attractive design features. But you will still have some decisions to make about furnishings, not least the carpets and other flooring.

With a whole new office to kit out and the likely advantages of a modern office – which is likely to have a lot of open plan areas and lots of natural light through the use of large windows and glass balustrades designed to allow light in and through – your carpets should not just be practical, but can also be attractive and fit in with the light and airy ambience.

Finding The Right Carpets

We have a great range of office carpet tile options to help you do this at a variety of affordable prices enabling you to meet different needs, such as those of large open-plan rooms, areas with more footfall and lower amounts, plus executive areas for senior managers.

For example, for more open areas you could use the Balsan Louvre Dalle carpet tiles (perfect for hotel and leisure environments) or the Balsan Polite 3D Tramontane carpet tiles, both of which come in 500 mm by 500 mm size.

The Louvre Dalle tiles come in a textured patina style with a wide array of colour options, including red, blue, green, yellow and various shades of grey. Made from 100 per cent recycled nylon, they are 8.4 mm thick and come in wear classification Class 33, making them hard-wearing in an area with a lot of footfall.

Similarly, the Tramontane will offer lots of colour choices such as green, red, blue, yellow and grey. Like the Dalle it has Class 33 wear and is made from recycled nylon, although it is thinner at 6.5 mm. Nonetheless, both products are very tough and come with a 15-year warranty.

For something very comfortable and colourful underfoot, you could try the Balsan Ultrasoft range, either the Dalle tiles measuring 500 by 500 mm or the planks measuring 250 x 1000 mm, which would be perfect for an at-home office.

Not only do both products come in green, red, blue, yellow, brown and grey, but they can be arranged in different interlocking patterns, so you can create your own mosaic of different colours to give your floor a striking and attractive look.

Both products come in Saxony construction, are 8.3 mm thick and are made from 100 per cent nylon, with a wear class of 23/32 LC3. A notable feature of both is how they reduce noise, with an acoustic reduction of 23 decibels. Both come with a five-year warranty.

Blending Endurance With Style

If you want something that looks a bit more ‘official’, perhaps in a darker grey, Balsan Urbanist 500 x 500 mm carpet tiles are one great option, The 5.4 mm thick Urbanist goes well stylistically with a minimalist concrete design of a building.

Burmatex is a brand that offers some very hard-wearing tiles for well-used floors, such as the Academy 500 x 500 tiles, which are available in a wide range of colours, 7.5 mm thick and have ‘heavy contract’ wear classification.

Other Burmatex carpets include its Arctic range, including planks and tiles, as well as the Balance tiles, which are classed as luxury and there for the most opulent and smart parts of the office.
